History & Heritage
Trinity Canyon Vineyards was established in 2009 by a group of passionate wine enthusiasts and winemakers led by Hovakim Saghatelyan. Their ambition was to honor Vayots Dzor's 6,100-year winemaking heritage by creating natural, organic wines that express the unadulterated terroir of the canyon. At Trinity, ancient tradition meets modern organic science. The winery was among the first in Armenia to restore the use of subterranean terracotta amphorae (karases)—large clay vessels buried deep underground. Fermented naturally with wild indigenous yeasts and macerated on grape skins for months, Trinity's wines (such as the famed Trinity 6100 series) embody the raw, mineral-rich soul of ancient Armenia. Today, Trinity Canyon welcomes international wine travelers for immersive tastings, cellar tours, and seasonal harvest grape stomping events, standing as a beacon of artisanal excellence in Vayots Dzor.
